Reviewing Lid Studios (Part Two)

Hello guys and welcome to a new series on my blog where I’ll be sharing my experiences with photo shoot studios I’ve worked with before, and, allowing you, my readers to rate them!

So without further ado, let’s get right into it! Last month I reviewed Lid Studios, but their services were so good that instead of moving on to another studio as is my norm, I decided to do a take 2 with them!

LID STUDIOS

Name of Studio: Lid Studios

Location: Contrust House, 3rd Floor, Moi Avenue (Next to Nairobi Sports House), Nairobi, Kenya.

REVIEWING LID STUDIOS (PART TWO)

THE EXPERIENCE

This was honestly one of the best shoots of my life, aaaah! Here’s what happened…

I booked in for the shoot at 10am. I got there at 9am, and was received by a most friendly team. Nyambura, my makeup artist, got there at around 9.10a.m. As usual, I don’t do makeup prior to arriving at the shoot venue, so we requested for a place we could do makeup before the photoshoot session began. (Makeup takes around 1hour, hence, the need for me to get to the venue 1hour earlier)

The vibe I was going in with for this shoot was something colourful, edgy and a bit daring. So I went in with my blues, pinks, purples, monochromes and orange. This was my second time working with Palmer so it was easy. I really enjoyed the shoot. It was so good that we extended the shoot a bit, over the one hour max time allocated for the shoot. Let me drop in a little tip: Guys, if there is no form of connection between you and the photographer you’re working with, you’ll always be asking yourself inwardly when the shoot will end. If it’s the reverse of this, time flies without either of you even realizing it.

After the shoot was complete, I was given a tablet from which to choose my best photos. No one rushed me, I think I must have taken an hour to choose my best because the photos were all so fire! I’d honestly give them an 11/10 because everything about Lid is on point! From customer care, to quality of photos, Lid is perfect!

PRICING

So, with photoshoots, most photoshoot studios have a fixed package of a minimum number of photos that you can get at a fixed price. Any extras that the client may want, are given to them in raw/unedited form. The package I went for was at 350bob per pic, minimum 10 pictures. Any extras are charged at 200 bob each. I took 3 extras that I really liked, so that was an extra 600bob above the 3500bob fixed price.

WAIT TIME…

Photos are ready in 3 working days. This shoot was on a Monday morning, I got my photos on Friday afternoon. (There was a slight delay, of which a representative from the studio texted to inform me that my photos would be a bit late. I really love the way these guys handle clients, honestly!)

PHOTOS DELIVERED…

My goodness, the photos delivered were so beautiful! Find below some of the photos they delivered.

REASONS I’D RECOMMEND LID STUDIOS:

✔ Professionalism Rating: 11/10

✔The customer care, warmness and friendliness to their clients is honest, genuine and amazing. You can honestly tell that beyond being there to make money, they actually care for their clients.

✔They deliver photos within 3 working days, which is very convenient for impatient people like me. (I know of studios which even go upto 5 working days before delivering)

✔Their rates are very fair and friendly.

✔ The quality of their pictures, whether edited or unedited, is on point!

REASONS I’D ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND MODERNE STUDIOS:

✖Honestly, I have no reason. These guys are amazing!

NOTE:

This was an experience I had exactly eight months from the time I wrote this post.

Whether the studio has changed in some way affecting their services, I may not be aware.

I am, thus, not accountable for any feelings contrary to what I’ve written. I’m writing on my own personal experience, so to each, their own.

Please let me know in the comments section, would you visit Lid Studios for your photoshoot?

Remember: Always consult widely and check reviews before booking in for a shoot with any studio.
