GirlSeries: Photoshoot Tips 101!
How do you brand yourself? Whatever niche you may be in, the one thing that will always attract people to you are your brand photographs. Lots of people tend to think twice before spending money on professional photographers. While it is understandable for personal brands and businesses to closely follow financial spending, it is also important to emphasize that getting help from a professional photographer is an essential branding investment.
A few tips that have worked for me in branding myself and getting endorsements and partnerships with other brands include the quality of photos I take. Good quality photos will speak more for you especially on the online space. That said, it is a bit costly, but with the proper research and preparation, you can reduce those costs significantly.
Here are some of the tips that have worked for me;
》Plan your budget – Write down a list of all the essentials you will need to nail your photoshoot session. That includes hair, makeup, outfit and transport costs. An estimate can be done by asking on the costs of these services and products prior to the shoot day.
》Decide on where you want to have your shoot done – This includes conducting market researches, checking out various photographers and studios and establishing which best fits you according to your photography needs.
》Book an appointment atleast 48hrs prior – Some studios will require you to book in advance. This also helps to commit the photographer so that they don’t take on another booking at your preferred time. Communication is key to avoid last minute disappointments.
》Choose your “Glam Team” – Decide where to do your hair, makeup, nails and where to purchase your outfits from in advance. You could also seek to hire a stylist to take care of all these for you so your only worry will be to look good. Seek out various makeup artists, compare prices and see whose services best work out for your makeup needs.
》Pack your essentials the night before – If you decide to do a shoot with multiple changes of outfits, the best thing to do would be to pack them all up the night before. By doing so you’re also giving yourself room to think through so you don’t forget anything important you may want to use for your shoot.
》Don’t be late for your appointment! – I cannot emphasize on this enough! Punctuality is everything. If you decide that your shoot starts at 9.00a.m., that means showing up at 9.00a.m., makeup done and everything on point. I have done shoots where I’ve seen people come in late and expect special treatment. Show up late but expect to be frustrated darling.
So that’s it for this week’s blog post. Hope these tips help out.❤
Till next time,
Stay safe, stay beautiful!🌸
